Review: The Tooth Adventures of Fanny Nightsky by L. Hollar

fanny nightskye cover

The Tooth Adventures of Fanny Nightsky is an adorable children’s story that highlights what can go wrong when you have a F.I.T. on the job. That stands for Fairy in Training. Fanny is training Zip to be a tooth fairy. The problem is he keeps making flub after flub, almost getting caught in a fairy trap and eaten by a cat! Will Fanny remember she was once a trainee, too, before she loses her patience?

The story is filled with a humor that adults will find endearing and children will giggle over. I got a kick out of Fanny’s toothsome expletives—Cotton Candy! or Peanuts and Popcorn! The full-color illustrations were beautifully done and delightful—what an incredible addition to an already wonderful story.

My copy was an ARC, and there were some typos, which I’m sure will be fixed in the final published version.

My one big complaint? It was over way too soon! I could see this being a short series and hope the author writes more about Fanny. A must have for any parent who’s ever had a close call with the flighty little fairies or as a “red alert” for new parents.
